Privacy policy

This policy describes how we collect, use, store, and share personal data when you use MyBharat.

1. Who we are

MyBharat is the data controller for this platform. For data protection inquiries, contact our Grievance Officer at the address listed on our Grievance page.

2. Data we collect

Account identifiers (e.g. phone in E.164), profile and questionnaire answers, listings and media you upload, messages, introductions, safety reports, billing-related identifiers when you use paid features, and technical logs needed to secure and operate the service.

3. Purposes and legal bases

Providing matching, listings, messaging, safety and moderation, compliance with law, fraud prevention, and — where you opt in — marketing or analytics as described in the in-app privacy centre.

4. Subprocessors

A living list of service providers is maintained on the Subprocessors page.

5. Your rights

Under the DPDP Act, 2023, you have the right to access, correct, update, or erase your personal data, and to nominate another individual to exercise these rights on your behalf. Access, correction, portability, and erasure flows are available in the signed-in Privacy centre. We respond to valid requests without undue delay and in any event within the timeframes prescribed by law.

6. Retention

We retain your personal data only for as long as necessary to fulfil the purposes described in this policy, to comply with our legal obligations, to resolve disputes, and to enforce our agreements. Account data is retained while your account is active and is deleted or anonymised after a defined period of inactivity. Some records — such as moderation and audit logs — may be retained for longer where the law requires it.
