Why we built India's anonymous rent map
The broker says ₹40,000. Your neighbour pays ₹28,000. Same building, same floor plan.
This information asymmetry costs Indian renters thousands of crores every year. It exists because nobody can share what they pay without consequences — landlords retaliate, brokers blacklist, and rent goes up for everyone.
Anonymity is the unlock
Every pin on MyBharat is anonymous by design. No login to browse. No name on your pin. Coordinates rounded to ~100m so your building is visible but your flat isn't.
What changes when rents are visible
- Negotiating power: you know the real number before you walk in
- Outlier detection: the ₹65k 2BHK in a ₹30k area gets flagged automatically
- Market signals: see which areas are actually rising vs. which are hype
The community layer
Beyond prices, every pin carries ratings (locality + building quality), comments from neighbours, and honest one-liners from the renter. Over time this becomes the dataset India has never had.
